SouthIndian Actress Asin Birthday Celebration on Oct 26.

Asin is on cloud nine, as she celebrates her birthday today (Oct 26). She is just back in Mumbai from London and Paris after the long schedule of Vipul Shah’s London Dreams, her second film in Hindi.

She says: “I am glad to be back in Mumbai where I will be celebrating my birthday by having a quiet dinner as usual with my parents”.

In fact the unit of London Dreams had invited her for a wrap up party before she left London and the actress was overwhelmed to find that it was a surprise birthday party that Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan had arranged for her.

The entire cast and crew including the Cultural Minister who had given special permission for the unit to shoot there was present to wish Asin.

Says Asin: “I never thought that I would be able to come back to Mumbai on my birthday. The unit was so professional and well-planned that we wrapped up the shoot five days in advance and I was able to fly back to Mumbai and celebrate at home”.

Asin also confesses that she changed into a complete shopaholic during her shoot.

Adds Asin: “It was a necessary evil that I had to indulge, as I explored all leading designer label stores in Paris and London from where I picked up designer shoes, dresses and sunglasses for my film as well as my personal use”.

Asin was also amazed when lots of Indians at Madame Tussauds in London came up to her and wanted to be photographed with her.

Visiting Afghanistan for the first time, Hollywood superstar Angelina Jolie broke down in tears after witnessing the plight of refugees who have returned home.

The actress, who wore a traditional dress, spent last Wednesday and Thursday visiting poverty-stricken families living in squalid conditions in Nangarhar and Kabul, reports mirror.co.uk.

'Since the fall of the Taliban in 2001 more than five million Afghans have returned home. Afghanistan has been struggling to absorb these massive returns,' she said.

'These families have been displaced for nearly 30 years and many of them face difficulties including food, shelter and basic services such as healthcare and education.

They have suffered so much yet they remain gracious,' she added.

Jolie traveled to Afghanistan as Goodwill Ambassador for the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.

Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif in forthcoming film 'Yuvvraj'

Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif seems to be the shining star of the hoardings of Subhash Ghai's forthcoming film 'Yuvvraj', with the male actors - Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor and Zayed Khan - taking a backseat.

'Katrina is considered to be a lucky mascot for her directors and Subhash is confident that Katrina will bring luck for him too,' a source close to the project said.

The filmmaker apparently chose to give Katrina such a prominent spot to let her know that she has earned her rightful place in the film.

'Katrina has done a fabulous job in 'Yuvvraj' and Subhash has witnessed the dedication with which Katrina has worked in the film. Hence the solo hoarding,' the source added.

Nakul and Sunaina in Kadhalil Vizhundhen are back again

Nakul and Sunaina were quite sensational with their on-screen presence for the film ‘Kadhalil Vizhundhen’. Proving to be a romantic-thriller, the film produced by Sun Pictures created high waves in the box office all throughout the state. More fascinated by their chemistries on-screen, producer of the film, the Television giant has again roped the young lad and missy for another film.

The audio launch of Silambarasan’s Silambattam is set to happen in Chennai. Mumbai model Sanaa Khan has been paired with Simbu in his upcoming film ‘Silambattam’.

The song Nalam Thana is not a complete remix of the old Shivaji Ganesan Number. There are only a few words used from the old hit song. The song Where is da party is said to be a foot tapping number. The movie also has a remix of the Nallavankku Nallavan song Vechikkava Unna.

Besides these, Ilayaraja has also lent his voice for one of the songs of the movie.


Silambattam is produced by Lakshmi Movie Makers. Directed by cinematographer-turned-director Saravanan, and has Yuvan Shankar Raja composing the music for the movie.

They were spotted together in LA celebrating Mayer's 31st birthday on the night of Wednesday 15. The bash was held at the Grand Havana Room, a members-only restaurant and cigar club.

After stopping by a party for pal David Arquette's new clothing line, called Propr, Aniston, 39, met up with the group, staying past midnight to ring in Mayer's birthday.

"They seemed to be having a great time," People quoted a source, as saying.

"They were sitting next to each other. They're a very good-looking couple and seemed happy together,” the source added.

It was their second outing in LA this week, following a dinner with friends the night before at the Sunset Towers.

Model-turned-actress Deepika Padukone, who is in the national capital to walk the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW) ramp for designer duo Shantanu-Nikhil, says she does not follow any fashion trends. "I believe in being comfortable in what I wear instead of wearing something in fashion that does not suit my body. I don't follow fashion trends," said Deepika.

Deepika says her favourite designer is Manish Malhotra, who is popular with most Bollywood icons.

"Manish always goes out of his way for me and does a good job. He also did my first film Om Shanti Om," she said.

On Thursday, the actress was dressed in a one-shoulder, short salmon coloured dress designed by Shantanu-Nikhil, who are showcasing their collection at the WIFW as part of the sponsor show for personal care brand Fiama Di Wills.

"I am really looking forward to be a part of the show," Deepika said.

Deepika attended an event to announce the winner of a Fiama Di Wills Beautiful Face 2008 Hunt, organised in collaboration with the Elite Modelling Agency.

Delhi-based Prerana Sharma was crowned winner of the event by the actress.

Deepika said: "During my days of modeling, I never got any such opportunity or platform to showcase my talent. But god has been kind to me."

Nayan is in Phuket dancing on the beaches with Ilayathalapathy Vijay for Villu

Last week Nayanthara was with Ajit in Switzerland, shooting a song for Aegan.

Both of them were dancing to the tune of Yuvan Shankar Raja’s music and taking part in a duet Mallika Mallika… choreographed by director Raju Sundaram.

Now Nayan is in Phuket dancing on the beaches with Ilayathalapathy Vijay for Villu directed and choreographed by Prabhu Deva, Raju’s brother!

Vijay had earlier completed some deadly action scenes, in Bangkok. Now after completing the song, they will be shooting some more portion of the talkie part of the film.

Nearly 60 percent of the talkie part of the film is being shot abroad, as per story demands.

Captain Vijayakanth and Vikraman are coming together for Mariyaathai after blockbuster movie Vanathai Pola. Vijaykanth has been, for the first time, paired up against Meera Jasmine for this Mariyadhai film. The grand success of Saroja, T. Siva of Amma Creations produces this Mariyathai film.

In ‘Mariyaadhai’, Vijayakanth plays dual roles of father and son with Meera Jasmine and Meena in the female lead role. For the father character Ambika is the choice. After “naaku mukka” Vijay Antony scores the music for this Mariyadhai. This time Vikraman did not chose his regular music composer S A Rajkumar.

Director Vikraman, on his part said, “Vaanatha Pola was the first Indian movie in the millennium, being released on January 13, said to be an unlucky day. But it went on to be a super hit, and went to many other languages as well.

Yet, I was disappointed with it on two accounts: I showed Vijaykanth as a very soft character. And two, the movie won many awards, but I expected a Best Actor Award for Vijaykanth, which never happened. I’m sure I’ll straighten things out this time around.” Meera Jasmine, Meena and Ambika play the heroines of the film.

Superstar Rajinikanth has put all the speculation of his political entry to rest by issuing a press statement that he has no intention to join politics at this point of time.

Rajini, who is back in chennai after a two week shooting of Enthiran in Goa has also warned againt creation of party names and party symbols and that he will not hesitate to take legal action against those who do such things on their own.

Rajinikanth has clearly stated that he is committed to his fans and is concentrating on his shooting now. He has also made it clear that “Nobody can force me in to politics or nobody can force me out of politics.”

Ajith and Nayanthara in Aegan Movie Shoots

Ajith starrer Aegan audio was launched on October 9th. This film, which is the debut directorial venture for choreographer and actor Raju Sundaram, has generated enough hype already.

Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed the music for this Ajith-Nayantara starrer. This is the third Ajith starrer that this talented music director is composing music for. He had earlier composed the music of Dheena and Billa.

All the songs of Aegan are good and some of them have the popular hip-hop touch.

Nayan is said to be at her glamours best yet again in this movie. ‘Aegan’ is ultimate star Ajith Kumar’s 48th film.
