Cheran is very happy the way his Raman Thediya Seethai has shaped up. He is all praise for his assistant Jagannath who has directed the film in which he plays hero, with five heroines opposite him. Says Cheran: “I’m happy the way RTS has shaped out. We have completed the entire talkie portion and what remain are two songs which we will wrap up by the end of the month.
It is going to be a very good film after Autograph, a treat for the entire family.” Now Cheran is focusing all his energy on his dream project Pokisham, for which the script is ready. He plays the hero and directs the film which will start rolling in April. Meera Jasmine who had shot for the photo shoot of the film had walked out of the project due to personal reasons.
Cheran has gone back to his favourite Thavamai Thavamirunthu heroine Padmapriya, who will now replace Meera. Says Cheran: “Padmapriya is a fantastic actress and in Pokisham, she has a very meaty role. The film has a village milieu and Sabesh Murali will provide music.”
When asked about reports that he is doing the remake of Taare Zameen par, Cheran quips: “Yes I met Aamir, but it’s too early to talk about it. In the Hindi version casting was top class and to remake this classic in Tamil is not that easy. I think that the film which was a blockbuster in cities and its message has to reach out to the schools and teachers in villages.”
